SPIDERMAN SUPERHERO BIRTHDAY PARTY

Saturday we celebrated our littlest dude’s 4th birthday party and it was AMAZING!

So Jaxon is obsessed with Mr. Spiderman right now, he likes them all but Spidey is his all time favorite. He begged for a Spiderman superhero birthday party and that is exactly what he got. Now, I know I could have done MORE Spiderman, but this is my third Spiderman birthday party y’all. My other 2 boys also went through a superhero obsessed age and so I try to switch it up a little every time so that I don’t feel like I’m throwing the same party over and over again. This theme as you will see is more of a generic superhero theme but I made sure to include Spiderman in posters, invitations, cake and goodie bags.

Since we hosted his party at his favorite indoor jumping playground, our time in the actual party room was limited to only 45 minutes, so I didn’t want to go crazy with decorations that would both take too long to set up and break down. I kept it simple and still I had a lot of other moms peep through the window to take a looksie. Some even wanted to use our picture backdrop for pix. Always a good sign when others appreciate your creativeness.

I simply allotted a corner for cake and selfie photo backdrop with props, I used sticky tack on printed “Daily Bugle front pages” all over the walls along with superhero action word cutouts, the centerpieces were mod podged paper mache letters with comic book strands.

DIY Sponge Bob Krabby Patty Party Invitations

Last year I made the cutest “krabby patty” invitations for my sons birthday celebration. He wanted a Sponge Bob theme party and even though we didn’t get to have an actual birthday party but rather just a small family gathering where we had cake and drinks, the invitations were literally my only project for a change, so I decided to splurge, if you can call it that.

Normally I don’t spend a lot on invitations just because I know they will end up in the trash, which is why I decided since it was my only DIY possibility for my sons party,  I wanted the invitations to serve one if not a few purposes before meeting their faith in the trash bin. I considered several options but while at one of my many routine Dollar store shopping spree’s, while in the bath/shower section, I saw a couple of round bath sponges and the vision for the Sponge Bob birthday party invitations just came to me…these Krabby Patty burger Invitations will serve as “play” for the little guests and when they’ve lost all the toppings, mommy or daddy could use the sponge around the house, this way at least my tiny investment didn’t feel like a complete waste 😉

ENCHANTED FAIRY GARDEN BIRTHDAY PARTY

This enchanted fairy garden birthday party was a delight to plan and style for my clients. They wanted a “story book enchanted garden” and I was determined to give them just that. This was their little’s first birthday party and they wanted to make it a memorable experience for their little one and all the family flying in from out of town to celebrate this amazing milestone with the family.

This birthday party took place in a meeting room of a Holiday Inn in Pearland, TX and let me tell you, that room was D-U-L-L, very office-y and boring. We wanted to give the guests the illusion of dining in the middle of an enchanted garden of forest, so we strung tissue paper leaves all around the dining area, entrance and walls. We also added flowers, vines and faux-grass in plastic planters all around the perimeter of the venue to keep the illusion going. Little details, such as tiny fairy houses, butterflies and bees on the various flowers and plants throughout the venue really set the mood of a truly enchanted garden…the oooo’s and ahhhh’s of all the little guests was affirmation that I did my job right. The family was very appreciative and over the moon with all the decorations, even Chef Luca Manfe was wow-ed

FORTY & FABULOUS

Forty and fabulous indeed! This past weekend I went back into party planner mode to help out a family friend put together her 40th birthday celebration. She chose to celebrate on a boat with her closest friends and family members complete with a DJ on board and a Taquiza ( Taco-stand) as well as a ceviche bar. She went with black, white and gold as theme colors and a “fritura bar” instead of a candy table since this was a 40th birthday party for adults only. Aside from a few motion sickness moments, for me anyhow, this Forty and Fabulous party was just that…fab and unforgettable. I hope this event inspires you to think outside the box when it comes to event planning, choose fun and unique venue, themes, color schemes and entertainment options.

Forty never looked better

BOHEMIAN BIRTHDAY PARTY

Today I want to share my little niece’s first birthday party because it has been one of my favorites I’ve ever done.  We went with a bohemian vibe/Coachella inspired/festival theme because we wanted cute, unique and not too played out.  My mom & I hand made every single decor and prop for this party and we had a blast doing it, like always.

For the main table backdrop we used artificial boxwood squares zip-tied together. The flowers are made from inexpensive tissue paper and the colorful woven baskets are all from the dollar store.
